Hello and Welcome!
Healing begins with desire for change and sometimes the path in this new direction is hard to find: I am honored to go into the woods with you and cultivate that new path, or to join you on a path you are already walking. The therapeutic relationship is a partnership where we walk together side-by-side. Walking with clients in this capacity is an honor and a privilege, and I strive to not only earn your trust, but continue to be worthy of it throughout our professional relationship.
I spent 20 years as a family science scholar teaching students who were pursuing careers in human services and family therapy/counseling. I researched the phenomenon and measurement of resilience, specifically in the context of trauma, identity, chronic health issues, and addiction. I returned to practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist serving first in a rehabilitation facility for substance use co-occurring with mental health disorders and then as the co-occurring disorders specialist working with those who have severe and persistent mental illness within the community. I am so honored and excited to continue serving the community here at Healing Tree Counseling.
Population
I serve adults, adolescents, couples, and families. As a proud Ally, I welcome members of the LGBTQ+ community. As a former professor, I welcome undergraduate and graduate students as well as those pursuing careers within the Academy.
