Erika Freeman, LPC

Hello, and welcome. I will provide you a safe open-minded environment to increase your self-awareness. Taking time to reflect on what you may want to change, improve on, or strengthen can be challenging yet self-rewarding. We will collaboratively work together throughout your counseling journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working in the mental health field for thirteen years in the school and community settings. I graduated from Old Dominion University (2006) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services Counseling and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Human Development from Radford University (2013).

During sessions, I often integrate my previous experiences of being a swim coach and collegiate athlete to challenge others to explore and establish meaningful short and long-term goals to help one meet their needs and personal growth. I utilize solution-focused, person centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches and specialize in the following areas:

  • Stress-Reduction

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Anger Management

  • Communication Skills

  • Mood Disorders

  • Grief and Loss

  • Self-confidence Challenges

Fun facts:

I like to swim, run, cycle, hike, camp, kayak, ski, read, cook, garden, listen to live music, spend time with friends and family.
